Summary of Case:

Alberto Ramos AKA Albert Ramos was one of The Bronx Five: 5 men working at day care centers in the Bronx prosecuted by Mario Merola. Alberto Ramos was convicted in May 1985 of child abuse and sentenced to 8-1/3 to 25 years in prison. His conviction was overturned on appeal in 1992. Ramos settled a wrongful conviction lawsuit against the City of New York in December 2003 for $5 million in damages. Ramos was represented by New York City attorney Joel Rudin.
