Summary of Case:	"Richard Raugust was wrongly convicted in 1998 of deliberate homicide in the death of his friend Joseph Tash, in Sanders County, Montana in 1997. A post-conviction investigation discovered that the prosecution failed to disclose exculpatory evidence to his trial lawyer. Raugust filed a petition for a new trial that was granted in 2015. On September 7, 2016 a motion by the Sanders County District Attorney to dismiss the charges against Raugust was granted. In July 2019 Raugust sent a demand letter to the State of Montana's Risk Management and Tort Defense Division asserting a claim for $97 million in compensation."
