Summary of Case:

"George Reissfelder was wrongly convicted in 1967 of the murder of a railroad payroll guard during a 1966 payroll heist in Boston's South Station. He was sentenced to life in prison. Reissfelder was released on August 30, 1982 based on the new evidence of his co-defendant's deathbed confession that Reissfelder was not involved in the crime. When released he told reporters, ""I feel great. I'm the happiest guy in the world." Reissfelder had escaped from prison in 1977 and was free for three years before his capture in 1980 while passing a bad check at a bank. A security officer's gun accidentally went off during Reissfelder's capture and he was convicted of attempted murder. After his Massachusetts' murder conviction was overturned Florida authorities immediately released him on parole. Reissfelder was wrongly imprisoned for almost 13 years."
