Summary of Case:

Wrongly convicted in August 2005 of lewd and libidinous behavior with a girl more than 20 years earlier. Gerry Rintoul's conviction was quashed in July 2006 based on the fact that the prosecution didn't present any evidence that the young woman involved was under 12 years old -- which the law required them to prove. Rintoul was imprisoned for four days after his conviction before he was released on bail pending his appeal.
