Summary of Case:	"Felipe Rodriguez was wrongly convicted in 1989 with murder in the death of 25-year-old Maureen McNeill Fernandez in Queens County, New York in 1987. Rodriguez' prosecution was based on the testimony of a police informant. Rodriguez was sentenced in 1990 to 25 years to life in prison. The informant recanted his testimony and in 2016 New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo commuted his sentence to time served. Rodriguez was released from prison in January 2017. Based on the discredited informant testimony, the Queens County District Attorney's Office filed a motion to vacate Rodriguez' conviction which was granted on December 29, 2019."
