Summary of Case:

"Luis Kevin Rojas was wrongfully convicted in 1991 of a murder in New York City in 1990. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Stay at home mom Lesley Risinger and her mother, lawyer Priscilla Read Chenoweth, worked pro bono on Rojas’s case for a decade and were finally able to discover new evidence that resulted in the overturning of his conviction. Rojas was acquitted in 1998 after his retrial. Rojas was wrongly imprisoned for almost eight years. Rojas filed a civil suit and the court found Rojas was innocent. Risinger later went to law school and became a lawyer. In February 2011 she was one of the co-founders of the "Last Resort Exoneration Project" sponsored by Seton Hall Law School."
