Summary of Case:

"Darius Rosebrough aka Kwame Rose, was wrongly convicted in March 2016 of failing to obey a law enforcement order on December 16, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland. Rosebrough was using a bullhorn during a protest outside of the Baltimore Circuit Court building on Dec. 16, after a 12-member jury failed to reach a consensus on four counts against Officer William Porter, one of six officers charged in Freddie Gray's arrest and death. Rosebrough was charged with obstructing vehicle traffic in front of the courthouse, obstructing pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk, disturbing the peace by using the bull horn, and failing to obey an order from law enforcement. The jury acquitted him of three charges, but convicted him of the fourth. Rosebrough appealed. On September 19, 2016 Baltimore Circuit Judge Videtta A. Brown vacated Rosebrough's conviction on the basis of insufficient evidence of his guilt because of his acquittal on the three underlying charges, and also because the the Baltimore Sheriff's Department's ban on bull horns outside the courthouse was overly broad and consequently unjustified."
