Summary of Case:	"Wrongly convicted in October 2006 of raping a member of his church congregation in 2000. Sentenced to 12 years in prison with 3 years suspended. He appealed, and posted $200,000 bail for release pending its outcome. However, prior to the Appeals Court hearing the Attorney General's office conceded that Rumano had been wrongly convicted because the prosecution failed to prove its case against him. The AG acknowledged that the testimony of the State witnesses, including Rumano's accuser, were riddled with inconsistencies and that the trial court didn't recognize the importance of verifying aspects of the allegation against Rumano. Rumano's conviction was vacated and the charges were dismissed in August 2007."
