The charges were based on Molly Levitan signing three documents purporting to be deeds transferring title of certain real property in Suffolk County to entities controlled by her codefendants. On January 8, 1980 the New York Court of Appeal unanimously overturned the convictions of all four defendants on the basis their conduct did not constitute a crime and ordered dismissal of their indictments."
