Summary of Case: |
"Claudia Salcedo and her daughters Gloria Salcedo and Teresa Salcedo were codefendants wrongly convicted in 2005 of assaulting police officers in Chicago, Illinois. The three insisted on their innocence, but they were convicted after a bench (judge only) trial. They were each sentenced to one year probation. The Salcedo's assault convictions were vacated on August 27, 2007 based on new evidence the police officers who provided the evidence against them had lied in other cases and falsified evidence." |
