Summary of Case:	"Joseph Salvati was co-defendant of Peter Limone, Louis Greco and Tameleo. The four men were wrongly convicted on the basis of an FBI informant who had provided the bureau with the names of the men who were the actual murderers. Joseph Salvati was sentenced to life in prison, and released in 1967 after 30 years of imprisonment when Massachusetts governor commuted his sentence. Salvati's conviction was vacated in 2001. Salvati sued the federal government and was awarded $26 million in July 2007 of a total award of $101.7 million to the four defendants by federal District Court Judge Nancy Gertner. The federal government appealed the award, and on August 27, 2009 the First Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the award."
