Summary of Case:	"Prabu Santharatnam, Jathies Santharatnam, Nimalan Nadarajah, Mayuran Seevaratnam, and Nimalrajah Thambithurai were five of six defendants were convicted on July 19, 2004 of charges related to the murder of Sellathurai Balasingham on November 6, 2001 as he was driving home. The convictions of all six defendants were overturned by the Court of Appeals in 2007, and five were again convicted of charges after a retrial in July 2008. On April 12, 2011 the Court of Appeals quashed the convictions of all five defendants based on new eyewitness evidence. The men were released after 8 years of incarceration."
