Summary of Case:	"Wolfgang Von Schleffen was wrongly convicted of drug charges on the basis of the federal prosecutor and the DEA's use of an unreliable paid government informant. His first trial ended in a hung jury. In 2000 US Dist. Ct. Judge Wilkie D Ferguson Jr. dismissed the indictment against German citizen Wolfgang Von Schleiffen, on the basis of the new evidence that the governments case against Von Schleffen was baseless. A wealthy Miami real-estate broker at the time of his conviction, Von Schleiffen was destitute when released in 2000 after 7 years of imprisonment, and he died in Munich, Germany in September 2003. In his last act before dying, US District Judge Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. signed an order requiring the federal government to pay to Von Schleffen all of his attorney fees and costs for its misconduct in his case used to secure his wrongful conviction. Von Schleiffen's wife said after her husband's death that she will continue to seek payment of the financial sanction."
