"Judith Scruggs was wrongly convicted on October 6, 2003 of contributing to her 12-year-old son's suicide in 2002, by keeping a messy house, which the prosecution claimed contributed to him being teased by schoolmates about his body odor. In May 2004 Scruggs was sentenced to five years probation and community service. Scruggs conviction reversed by the Connecticut Supreme Court in August 2006 on the grounds that the law she was convicted of violating, risk of injury to a child, was unconstitutionally vague."
