Summary of Case:	"Sherry Sherret-Robinson was wrongly convicted on June 2, 1999 of infanticide in the death of her four-month-old son, Joshua on January 22, 1996. During Sherret-Robinson's trial the prosecution relied on the testimony of Dr. Charles Smith that she was responsible for her son's death by smothering. After her conviction by a jury she was sentenced to one year in prison. On December 7, 2009, the Ontario Court of Appeal overturned Sherry’s conviction and entered an acquittal, based on new evidence that Dr. Smith's expert evidence was unreliable."
