Summary of Case:	"Frank Shortt was wrongly convicted in March 1995 of allowing the sale of drugs at his Inishowen club, and sentenced to three years imprisonment. In 2002, after he had finished serving his sentence, Frank Shortt's conviction was reversed by the Court of Appeals.. Awarded an interim compensation payment of €375,000 (Euros) by Ireland's High Court in July 2005, to be paid by the Irish government. Awarded final settlement of €1.9 million (Euros) in Ocotber 2005 by Ireland High Court. Ireland Supreme Court increased Shortt's compensation to €4.5 million (Euros) in March 2007. The €2.6 million in additonal compensation was equivalent to $3,501,000 (US)."
