Summary of Case: |
"Miguel Angel Rodriguez, who served as Costa Rica’s president from 1998-2002, and ICE ex-managers Joaquín Fernandez and Guido Sibaja, as well as Alcatel manager Edgar Valverde and Luis Adrian Quiros, a private-practice lawyer, were wrongly convicted in 2011 of corruption and bribery charges in Costa Rica. In 2012 their convictions were overturned on appeal, but the convictions were reinstated by Costa Rica's Supreme Judicial Court that remanded it back to the appeals court. In December 2015 the appeals court again overturned their convictions." |
