Summary of Case:

"Juan Silva Sr. was wrongly convicted in May 2014 of hit-and-run resulting in death resulting from a traffic accident on September 28, 2013 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. In June 2015 a co-worker of Silva's wife told a police officer that she had said her husband was behind bars for a crime he did not commit to keep their son out of prison, who had actually been driving. Police officers interviewed Silva's wife, and after she told them what happened they interviewed her son, who then confessed. During a hearing on July 27, 2015 Silva testified under oath that he had falsely confessed to spare his son. The judge vacated his conviction and ordered his release. Juan Silva Jr. had already been charged with three felonies, including hit-and-run resulting in death."
