Summary of Case:	"Claude Alvin Simmons Jr. and Christopher Shun Scott were codefendants wrongly convicted in 1997 of murder and robbery in Dallas, Texas. On March 3, 2010 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted the writ of habeas corpus of Claude Simmons Jr. based on his actual innocence. The Court's ruling stated: "Applicant contends that he is actually innocent. The trial court adopted Applicant’s and the State’s supplemental stipulated findings of fact and conclusions of law, determined that Applicant has established that he is actually innocent, and recommended that we grant relief. We agree. Accordingly, relief is granted." On March 10, 2010 the appeals court granted the habeas petition of Christopher Scott on the same basis. On May 4, 2010 the State of Texas awarded Claude Simmons compensation of a $1,000,000 lump sum payment plus a $5,944.18 monthly annuity."
