"Willam K. Smith was co-defendant of his wife Janet Smith. Both were wrongly convicted of sedition based on Montana's Sedition Act of 1918. One of 78 people convicted of violating the Sedition Act pardoned by Montana Governor Barry Schweitzer on May 3, 2006. Sentenced to 10 to 20 years imprisonment and a $20,000 fine. The fine was paid by the Sheriff's sale of 80 acres of his family's farm land. His wife, Janet Smith was sentenced to 5 to 10 years imprisonment." |
