Summary of Case:

"Patricia Stallings was wrongly convicted of the first-degree murder of her three month old son by ethylene glycol (anti-freeze) poisoning. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole. At the time of her imprisonment she was pregnant with her second child, and tests conducted after he was born showed that he had the same rare blood disease as the child that died -- which could show up as being caused by ethylene glycol poisoning. Based on the new scientific evidence Stallings made a motion to vacate her conviction and sentence which was granted. She was released in September 1991 after about eight months in custody."
