Summary of Case:

J. C. Strickland was codefendant of Samuel Curbow. The two men were wrongly convicted of robbery in January 1939 by a jury based on the erroneous eyewitness identification of the two men as the robbers. Neither man was appointed a lawyer. Pardoned by Texas Governor Lee O'Daniels in April 1940 after the actual culprits confessed. No compensation was paid.
