Summary of Case:

"Co-defendant of Imam Khambali and Mamak Sugianto. All three men wrongfly convicted in May 2008 of the September 2007 murder of a man in East Java. The convictions were based on the men's confessions extracted under intense police pressure. DNA testing after the men were sentenced to between 12 and 17 years imprisonment proved that a fourth man who confessed was the lone assailant. Sugianto (aka Sugik) was released on September 25, 2008, and the other two were released in mid-December 2008."
