Summary of Case:

"John Tero was wrongly convicted and imprisoned in December 2000 at the age of 71. In June 2001 Tero was given indigestion tablets by prison doctors after he complained of stomach pains and being able to eat only biscuits and soup. Continuing complaints led to his hospitalization for tests that found he had a tumor in his stomach. His treatment by indigestion tablets continued. His conviction was quashed on December 19, 2002, and he was released at the age of 73. After Tero's release he was admitted to a hospital and underwent radiotherapy and surgery. As of September 2003 he was deathly ill, and the UK's prison service has refused to admit he was given faulty treatment while imprisoned."
