Summary of Case:

"Claire Thompson was wrongly convicted in 2009 of causing grievous bodily harm to a nine-week-old baby. There was testimony that the child's injuries were caused by a person, but only one witness implicated her in causing them. After he conviction by a jury she was given a suspended sentence. She appealed based on the prejudice caused her by the judge allowing the witness to testify who unfairly implicated her. In April 2011 the Court of Appeals quashed her conviction. The three judge panel said her trial had taken a "seriously wrong turn" and declined to order a retrial - saying "enough is enough.""
