Summary of Case:	"James Calvin Tillman was wrongly convicted in 1989 of rape and sentenced to 45 years in prison, based on the testimony of the victim. A Hartford, Connecticut Superior Court judge granted Tillman's motion for a new trial on June 6, 2006, after DNA testing in May 2006 of the assailant's semen on the victim's pantyhose excluded Tillman. The judge then immediately released James Tillman on his own recognizance. Tillman was wrongly imprisoned for 18 years. The Connecticut legislature voted on May 16, 2007 to award James Tillman $5 million compensation. The Connecticut House voted 148-0 and the Senate voted 33-0, to award Tillman the money."
