"David Richard Turnpaugh was wrongly convicted of soliciting an undercover policewoman for sexual intercourse, and then jumping his bail when he was released to await his trial. Turnpaugh's conviction was overturned and he was acquitted by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in 2007 on the basis he had not offered the policewoman money for sex as required by the statute. On November 25, 2013 the Wisconsin Claims Board announced it had awarded Turnpaugh compensation of $36,847 under the state wrongful conviction compensation statute."
