Summary of Case:	"Kolinio Vunaki was wrongly convicted of raping a girl on January 21, 2009 in the living room of his house in Tukavesi, in Fiji's province of Cakaudrove. The only evidence against Vunaki during his trial was the girl's testimony. After his conviction he was sentenced to 9 years in prison. On November 23, 2011 Fiji's Supreme Court overturned Vunaki's conviction in the Magistrate's Court based on insufficient evidence and ordered his immediate release. The Court's ruling noted that no medical report was introduced into evidence and there was no corroboration of the "victim's testimony. Judge Justice Paul Madigan said there were also several inconsistencies casting doubt on the veracity of the "victim's" testimony."
