Summary of Case:	"Ryun David Wahlgren was wrongly convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in Dallas County, Texas. Ryun Wahlgren pled guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison. After his conviction Wahlgren learned that he wasn't required under Texas law to register as a sex offender -- and that his lawyer should have known it at the time he pled guilty. On April 26, 2017 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Wahlgren's writ and allowed him to withdraw his guilty plea as involuntary because he didn't know he wasn't required to register as a sex offender. Wahlgren also pled guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in Harris County, Texas, when he in fact wasn't required to register. His writ of habeas corpus to withdraw his guilty plea in that case was granted by by the TX Ct. of Appeals on September 13,2017 and his conviction was set-aside."
