Summary of Case:

"Taj Wali was wrongly convicted on March 12, 2016 of murder in the death of two policemen during the robbery of a Pakistan Post van that had collected cash from the Peerabad post office branch on January 2, 2013. Three men were believed to have participated in the robbery. Wali was arrested several months after the murders and robbery based on eyewitness identifications. Wali's defense was the eyewitnesses misidentified him and he did not participate in the crime. After his conviction by an anti-terrorism court Wali was sentenced to life in prison. Wali appealed. On May 9, 2018 the Sindh High Court set-aside Wali's convictions on the basis the prosecution introduced insufficient credible evidence of his guilt."
