Summary of Case:

"Richard Neville, Richard Walsh, Martin Sharp were codefendants wrongly convicted in Sydney, Australia in 1964 of obscenity charges related to OZ magazine issue 6 that showed Neville and other males appearing to urinate in public. Magistrate Gerald Locke found the three guilty after a bench trial, ruling that the issue would deprave young people and unhealthy adults who were "misguided" enough to read it, They were sentenced to 3 to 6 months in prison. In 1965 their convictions were overturned on appeal, with Judge Aaron Levine ruling that while OZ might be offensive, it had no tendency to corrupt or deprave. Richard Neville was later convicted of obscenity charges in 1971 in England related to OZ magazine, which were also overturned on appeal. Neville is the only known person to be wrongly convicted and exonerated on two continents."
