Summary of Case:	"Lashane Westbrooks and Jerome Cruz were codefendants wrongly convicted in October 2007 of selling drugs to an undercover police officer in Brooklyn, New York on December 6, 2005. Westbrooks was sentenced to 3-1/2 years in prison adn Cruz to 1 year in prison. About a month after their conviction evidence was discovered that the drugs had been planted on them by the NYPD officers. The Kings County DA's Office filed a motion to vacate the convictions of Westrooks and Cruz that was granted in November 2007 and they were released. Westbrooks lawsuit against the City of New York was settled for $60,000."
