Summary of Case:	"Derrick Raphel Williams was wrongly convicted in 1993 of the August 6, 1992 abduction of a 25-year-old woman from her Palmetto, Florida home and her robbery and rape. Derrick Williams conviction was based on the victim's testimony. Williams was sentenced to life in prison. DNA testing unavailable at the time of Williams' trial established that Williams did not wear a gray T-shirt that the victim kept from her attacker. Williams filed a motion for a new trial based on the new exculpatory evidence, and on March 29, 2011 Williams conviction and sentence were overturned by Circuit Judge Marc Gilner. His indictment was dismissed on April 4, 2011."
