Summary of Case:	"Joe Sidney Williams was co-defendant of Calvin E Washington. Joe Williams and Calvin Washington were tried separately, but both men were wrongly convicted in 1987 of the 1986 rape and murder of a Waco, TX woman. Both men were exonerated in 2001 when new evidence in the form of DNA tests proved neither Williams nor Washington had raped White and that blood on a shirt prosecutors said belonged to Washington was not White's. Williams conviction had been reversed in 1993 based on the judges admittance of improper testimony. The prosecution dismissed the charges against Williams. Washington was released from prison on July 5, 2001 after 14 years of wrongful imprisonment."
