Summary of Case:

"Harold C. Wilson was wrongly convicted on October 4, 1989 of a triple murder on April 10, 1988 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wilson was sentenced to death. Wilson's death sentence was overturned in 1999 based on ineffective assistance of counsel. However he remained on death row because his convictions remained. Wilson convictions were vacated and a new trial was ordered in 2003 based on the prosecution's reliance on racial bias to eliminate black jurors. Wilson's second trial ended in a mistrial. His third trial began on October 31, 2005. For the first time DNA evidence was presented in Wilson's defense. Wilson was excluded as the murderer based on the new evidence of DNA tests of crime scene evidence. Harold Wilson was acquitted on November 15, 2005, and released after more than 17-1/2 years in prison.."
