After his release on parole in January 2005, the actual rapist was arrested, and he admitted to the rapes as well as committing a total of 14 rapes. Hiroshi Yanagihara was acquitted after a retrial in October 2007. He was wrongly jailed for 2 years and 8 months (April 2002 to January 2005)."
