Summary of Case:

"Mahmoud Yassin was wrongly convicted on May 25, 2010 of manslaughter for negligence as Cairo's deputy governor in a September 2008 rockslide that resulted in the death of more than 100 people. Mahmoud Yassin was sentenced to five years in prison. An Egyptian appeals court overturned Yassin's conviction on September 21, 2010. He had posted bail after his conviction, so he didn't serve any time in prison. Yassin had seven co-defendants who were convicted of criminal negligence and sentenced to three years imprisonment. The appeals court overturned the conviction of one of his co-defendants, and reduced the sentence of the other six to one year imprisonment."
