Summary of Case:	"Yuping Zhang was a Chinese businesswoman wrongly convicted in Uganda on October 23, 2011 of fraud in issuing three check that were returned for insufficient funds. She was sentenced to one year in prison. A week after she was jailed she was rushed to a hospital with a medical emergency, and in December 2011 she was granted bail pending her appeal. In March 2012 the Kampala High Court overturned her conviction on the basis the trial court had not properly evaluated the evidence, and that based on the facts it was a civil matter and should not have ended up in a criminal prosecution because no crime was committed."
