Summary of Case:	"Wang Zifa was wrongly convicted in 2002 of murdering a man in September 2001 in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Zifa appealed after his conviction and sentence of death and confiscation of all his property. Zifa was awarded a new trial. His retrial lasted three years and after his reconviction in 2005 for murder he was sentenced to death on March 14, 2005. His sentence was commutted. Based on the discovery another man confessed to the murder, Zifa was granted a retrial and he was released on bail on August 6, 2010. Zifa's conviction was overturned on August 20, 2010, after the murder charge was dismissed. Zifa was wrongly imprisoned for eight years and ten months from his arrest in October 2001 to his August 2010 release. The murderer first confessed in 2007, so Zifa served three years after the authorities knew he was innocent. "
