Summary of Case:	"Wolfgang Joachin von Schlieffen was wrongly convicted in federal court in February 1994 of conspiracy to engage in cocaine trafficking in Miami, Florida. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. After his conviction Von Schlieffen discovered the prosecution had failed to disclose favorable evidence regarding prosecution witnesses, and deported a key witness before von Schlieffen's trial because he refused to provide prosecution favorable testimony and incriminate von Schlieffen. Von Schlieffen filed a federal habeas corpus petition and he was released from federal prison on July 28, 2000 after his conviction was overturned and he was granted a new trial by the U.S. District Court judge. In 2003 U.S. District Court Judge Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. granted von Schlieffen's motion under the Hyde Amendment to be granted reimbursement for his defense expenses for the U.S. Attorney's Office's bad faith prosecution of him."
