Untwins is about a year in the life of two high school foreign exchange students and their American host family. During that year they were all exposed to many new experiences and the challenges of learning to live as a family!
The two female students were from Ukraine and Romania. They were winners of a merit FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) scholarship. FLEX scholarships are awarded each year by the U. S. State Department to around 1% of applicants from more than 20 Eastern European and Eurasian countries. As FLEX finalists the teenage girls were exceptionally intelligent. Although English was her second language, one of the girls had the highest grade point average (GPA) in her class during her school year in the United States.
Untwins gives a glimpse into the life of the teen girls in the U.S. when at home, at school, while volunteering for community activities, and during holidays. Three hundred color photographs and photos from video screen shots give color to the teen girl’s activities and adventures. Also included is a map marking places the girls visited in three states with their American family.
